Wtih comparable sensibilities toward color, shape, and gesture, eleven artists from Washington, DC and Virginia explore contemporary abstract painting through the inventive use of collage, innovative construction techniques, and conceptually structured frameworks. Showcasing the work of Sally Bowring, Don Crow, Steven Cushner, Reni Gower, Chris Gregson, Steven Griffin, Ray Kass, Ron Johnson, Paul Ryan, Javier Tapia, Dan Treado, Constructs offers the constructed image as a visual metaphor of the creative process. As a living, breathing exhibition, each installation is a "construct" in itself that is reinvented at each venue.
